TALA AutoLayout Algorithm Goes Open Source
Terrastruct has open-sourced TALA, its AutoLayout Algorithm for diagram layout, under the MPL-2.0 license. TALA is designed for software architecture diagrams, supports orthogonal layouts, and is now bundled in D2 v0.9.0 with a selectable --layout=tala option. The release also highlights tradeoffs such as randomness, weaker DAG handling, and slower performance on larger diagrams.
