Methodology
Trendora is an automated technology radar. A news pipeline reads many sources daily, summarizes with AI, and places each technology in a ring based on its maturity — not the sensationalism of any single story.
The four rings
- Adopt — Proven; a sensible default choice.
- Trial — Worth pursuing on projects that can handle some risk.
- Assess — Worth understanding; not yet a production bet.
- Hold — Proceed with caution; avoid for new work.
How rings are computed
Each position comes from a three-layer model: (1) an algorithm proposes a ring from the technology's evidence set — volume, recency, and event type; (2) crowd signals (views, clicks, shares, and later votes) refine it; (3) a safety valve lets an admin freeze/correct a placement with a recorded reason. Low evidence defaults to Assess/Hold at low confidence.
Impact ≠ maturity
An impact score (0–10) measures how newsworthy an event is. A single high-impact story does not by itself move a technology toward Adopt — the ring reflects maturity aggregated across all evidence plus crowd signal.
AI labeling
Every summary is AI-generated and labeled, with a link to its source. Every placement carries a human-readable rationale.
