NestJS 12 adds ESM support, schema validation, and observability
NestJS 12 has been released with core packages moved to ESM, while still allowing new projects to choose between CJS and ESM. The update also adds Standard Schema validation, an observability SDK, and lifecycle project hooks, with Node.js 20.19+ or 22.12+ now required.
