Cloudflare has updated Smart Tiered Cache to better handle public cloud origins behind anycast or regional unicast endpoints. By accepting a cloud region hint, the system can choose more accurate primary and fallback upper-tier data centers for AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, and Oracle Cloud, improving cache efficiency and reducing unnecessary traffic hairpinning.
