shadcn/ui now defaults new projects and documentation to Base UI instead of Radix, while still supporting Radix for existing users and new projects that opt in. The maintainers say Base UI is stable and increasingly preferred in the community, and they also introduced a migration skill to help teams move component by component if needed.
