From 19 July, large companies in the EU are barred from destroying unsold clothes, accessories and footwear, with medium-sized firms covered from 2030. The new rules under the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation require firms to prioritize resale, donation, repair and reuse, with destruction allowed only in limited cases and subject to reporting and enforcement.
