Cloudflare describes five memory optimizations to Big Pineapple, the system behind 1.1.1.1 and other DNS services, which reduced the per-entry cache footprint by more than 50%. Across the fleet, the changes freed roughly 100 terabytes of memory while also improving performance, with insert throughput up 43% and lookup latency down 19%.
