AssessTools
A secure cryptographic chip used to store signing keys and perform hardware-backed signing.
Why it's here
Placed in Assess: 1 article(s) of evidence from 1 source(s), led by open-source activity, with 1 in the last 30 days. Confidence 24%. Low accumulated evidence, so it defaults conservatively pending more signal.

A Recurse Center project built a low-cost camera that signs images at capture time using a secure element and hides the signature inside the pixels. The system uses a perceptual hash and watermarking so the proof can survive compression and resizing, though it still cannot stop screen rephotography attacks.
